Thanks to its natural harbour, Plymouth is a prime location for the fishing industry, with Sutton Harbour remaining the major fishing port for the area for hundreds of years. Fishing is still at the heart of Plymouth’s industry, in large part due to its modern fish market which sells more than 6000 tonnes of fish every year.
