Cooden Crab by Emma Davidson

June 23, 2021

On a cloudy day in June, we set off for our favourite beach, Cooden, East Sussex. After a bracing swim, we were discussing lunch options when the sun peeked out from behind the clouds and warmed us all up.

We decided to pop to the Angry Whelk, a seafood shop in the nearby town of Bexhill. The angry whelk himself was there to greet us! We bought a dressed crab, a pot of cockles and a pot of crayfish tails.

When we got home, we enjoyed the dressed crab on crusty bread for lunch. Later in the day, we cheffed up a delicious spaghetti dish with the cockles and crayfish tails.
