Beach day by Daisy Gale

It was a very warm summers day so we decided to venture out to our family friends’ beach hut. Just behind Whitstable Harbour, as you walk up a hill you’ll see an array of different coloured beach huts. We walked along the path to the beach hut. We greeted each other and then all the children got into the sea either swimming, paddle boarding or kayaking whilst our parents talked and caught up with each other. All of us rushed to take our sliders off and put on our sea shoes otherwise it may hurt our feet because of the stones. The first thing I did was paddle boarding, so me and my two friends put our life jackets on and paddled out in the sea. We let each other take turns paddling, it was really fun floating on the blue waters (plus I only fell in a couple of times!). We stayed out for about 45 minutes then we came in and  I helped my little brothers in the kayaks, which was quite funny as they didn’t know what to do. We stayed and played in the water all day getting in and out for snacks. We have all grown up near the beach, so it is something we all love to do. The day ended with a beautiful sunset and fish and chips, which is of course the traditional thing to eat at the beach, followed by the best sleepover with the two girls, which was so nice after a day of being in the water together. I love the beach because it’s fun to go to in any season, type of weather or time of the day. Even when it rain,s it’s still fun as you see the rain hit the water. The best time of year is when you can get in the sea on a boiling, hot day when you just want to cool down and you spend it with your friends and family. These days are ones you want to remember forever, especially if you move as you might have to go further to go to the beach. So therefore I would never take it for granted as it’s where I grew up and made memories.
