Bangor

After Bangor’s popularity as a seaside resort diminished, the area around Bangor harbour became neglected and run-down. However, by the 1990s, the harbour experienced a resurgence and it is now used by trawlers landing their catches, and mussel boats mainly involved in dredging in Belfast and Larne Loughs. From time to time Scottish boats also use the harbour for shelter during rough weather.
