Campbeltown

Situated right at the tip of the beautiful Kintyre peninsula, Campbeltown harbour is a busy port with close links to Ireland, which is only 14 miles across the sea. It is often described as the most southerly point of the Highlands and the port was well known for its herring fishing, as well as other industries including whisky distilling, coal mining and boat building. Nowadays, it is more popular as a tourist hotspot.
