Stornoway

The main port for the Outer Hebrides and often considered the gateway to the islands, Stornoway is a safe, natural harbour with a small fishing fleet. The harbour was named “Steering Bay” by the Vikings which phonetically translated became the name “Stornoway.” Today it is a bustling town, popular with tourists and a regular port-of-call for visiting cruise ships.
