SoleShare – Clapton

Started by friends Theresa Douthwright and Jack Clarke, who share a passion for protecting the marine environment and the jobs of the small scale fishermen that rely on, SoleShare is a catch-share business that provides people with seafood direct from their fishermen’s catch of the day. Members chose how much fish they want, how often they want it and select their nearest pickup hub in London.

Fishing along the south coast, SoleShare’s fishermen only use static nets, pots and rod and line to make sure their catch is as sustainable as possible. The catch-share scheme also cuts out processors and agents meaning the fishermen receive a fair price for their catch. Members have no choice over the fish they receive but instead get whatever has been caught that day, creating the perfect opportunity to learn how to cook and prepare a huge range of species
